Governor Ned Lamont visited Lake Success on August 19, 2026, touring the property with the Lake Success project team and learning more about the vision for the site’s future. During the visit, the Governor explored key areas of the 419-acre property and discussed plans to conserve a significant portion of the site to protect natural resources, wildlife habitat, and public access opportunities. The tour also highlighted plans for renewable energy development on a portion of the property, advancing Connecticut’s clean energy goals while complementing long-term conservation efforts.
The visit brought together local and state elected officials, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) staff, community stakeholders, nonprofit organizations, and project partners. Participants discussed the ongoing transformation of Lake Success into a model for sustainable reuse, where environmental stewardship, public access, and renewable energy can coexist to provide lasting benefits for the Bridgeport and Stratford communities. As cleanup efforts continue toward completion, Lake Success remains a unique opportunity to preserve hundreds of acres of open space while creating a sustainable future for the property.
