Over the past several months the Corteva team, working with local nonprofits and Neighborhood Revitalization Zones (NRZs), has engaged the community in the redevelopment of the Lake Success site by hosting one on one meetings with key local stakeholders, organizing group meetings with several local nonprofits, attending neighborhood resident meetings, and facilitating group tours. Among those engaged included the City of Bridgeport Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED) and Sustainability Office staff, State Representative Joe Gresko, State Representative Andre Baker, City Councilwoman Maria Pereira and Maria Valle along with City Councilman Scott Burnes, East Side NRZ Chairwoman Tatiana Urena, and Mill Hill NRZ Chair Lawrence Comer. More than 30 meetings have been attended and/or facilitated and over 150 people have been reached. Key themes centered around access, location of renewable energy park, community benefits, safety, programming, ownership structure, and timeline for completion of the project.
Outreach included onsite birding tours, in conjunction with Sierra Club and CT Audubon, where over 50 stakeholders were able to take advantage of these opportunities.
